Computer Applications students have been learning about the importance of digital citizenship and navigating the Internet in a safe and ethical manner. One of our recent topics was the discussion of copyright and when and how it is okay to use someone else’s creative works. The students were split into groups where they were able to act as “Mad Men” and choose from several photos, all with different ownership properties, to find the best fit for their client’s advertising campaign. At the end of the lesson, students were introduced to using Plickers (students are shown holding up their plickers in a couple of the images) for a quick assessment of student understanding on the topic of copyright.
