This week our finished up our unit about Animals by talking about different ways to categorize animals.  In our book we read that one way animals at categorized is by their skin covering.  Mammals have hair or fur, Reptiles and Fish have scales, Amphibians have smooth, wet skin, and Birds have feathers.  We also examined 9 different animals and discussed the way they move.  Do they fly, walk, swim, or all three?  Finally students had to take the animals we discussed and come up with another way to categorize them.  Some students chose to group by color, while others chose to group them by body part.
