Students in Mrs. Meyer’s fourth grade social studies class have been learning about the different Native American tribes. In order to better understand the purpose of totem poles the Native Americans of the Pacific Northwest made, each student created their very own totem poles. The students researched what each animal represented, and then chose the two that best represented their personalities to make their two-piece totem pole. The students really enjoyed this project and being able to use their creativity to make their totem poles.
